INDIANA – 18, PENN HILLS – 3
Olivia Zimmerman had a three-hit game while Ashlyn Winslow pitched a complete game in the Little Indians 18-3 mercy rule of Penn Hills in WPIAL action. Indiana led 3-2 after the first inning, but a nine-run second inning, along with a six-run third, provided enough insurance to seal the early win.
Zimmerman went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a home run and 4 RBIs. She was helped by Ella Myers, who went 1-for-1 with three RBIs, and Regan Trusal, who plated two runs in the game. Gia Cosentino also drew two walks and stole three bases for Indiana.
Winslow also helped herself on the mound by allowing just three hits and two earned runs, all while striking out two.
The Little Indians return home on Tuesday to face the Armstrong Riverhawks.
MARION CENTER – 13, DERRY – 3
The Stingers tallied 13 hits while scoring multiple runs in five of the seven innings played to cruise to a non-conference win over Derry in non-conference play+
++. Marion Center also forced Derry to commit six errors while limiting them to just nine hits.
