New crowd size limits for gatherings and events in Pennsylvania will go into effect today.
Indoor events will be allowed to admit up to 50 percent capacity, while outdoor events will be allowed to open up to 75 percent capacity. That’s according to guidelines released by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The new guidelines come two weeks before the guidelines will be lifted completely at 12:01 AM on Memorial Day.
Mask mandates remain in effect for now. The updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the state department of health says that those fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask outdoors and in certain indoor settings. Masks are still required for those who are not vaccinated or for anyone in a crowded public situation, like visiting a hospital or long-term care facility, or riding public transportation. The updated guidance also says that businesses and municipalities can still enforce stricter mask rules.
