Indiana Borough Council on Tuesday night discussed their much-anticipated return to in-person meetings at the borough building on 8th Street.
As part of that return to in-person meetings, upgrades are planned for the council meeting room to turn it into a “Zoom room” to make it possible for those unable to attend or take part in the meetings in person to do so through Zoom video chat, which has been utilized by the borough to hold meetings since the start of the pandemic. Borough Manager C. Michael Foote said that the upgrades will not be ready in time for the meetings in June.
In other business, police chief Justin Schawl acknowledged that Indiana is getting ready for it’s first major festival since the pandemic with the Delaney Chevrolet Westsylvania Jazz and Blues festival at the end of the month. He said that while there are some preventative measures in place regarding Covid-19, he advises everyone to “go easy”.
The board also approved to execute a five-year engagement letter with Kotzan CPA and associates for independent audit professionals.
