With Tropical Storm Fred affecting most of the southern United States, the northern portion will deal with its aftershock in the coming days. Some severe weather that’s forecasted include groups of thunderstorms appropriately titled Tropical Rainstorm Fred.
While this rainstorm won’t bring as many disastrous effects as what states such as Alabama will encounter, Accuweather Meteorologist Jason Nicholls said Indiana County will see some heavy rainfall in the coming days that might bring flash flooding.
Nicholls adds that the movement of the rainstorm will be quick, so it won’t be around for a long time.
When encountering flooded areas, Nicholls advises residents to not drive around flooded areas – since it’s unknown how deep the flooded areas are – and not to play in the flooded areas as fast-moving water could sweep one’s legs out from under them.
