As we go into Labor Day weekend, the average cost of a gallon of gas continues to go up across the country, across the state and in Indiana County as well.
Triple-A reports that the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the united states is $3.18 a gallon, a spike of four cents over the last week, but holding steady from last month at this time. Pennsylvania’s average is 11 cents higher than the national average, at $3.29 a gallon, a two-cent increase from last week and last month.
Indiana County’s average is close to the statewide average, at $3.30 a gallon. Comparing Indiana to surrounding counties, Westmoreland has $3.29 a gallon. Armstrong County’s average is the same as Indiana’s. Clearfield has an average of $3.31 a gallon, while Cambria and Jefferson each have $3.34 a gallon. The highest average in the state is Warren County in the NorthWest with $3.39 a gallon, and the lowest average is Carbon County to the East at $3.21 a gallon.
Gas prices in White Township, and Indiana, Clymer and Shelocta Boroughs are at $3.29 a gallon. Gas in Homer City and Blairsville is at $3.35 a gallon, according to Gasbuddy.com
