INDIANA FIRE DEPARTMENTS ON SCENE TO HELP WITH FIRE AT BAR IN AVONMORE

Fire departments from Indiana and Westmoreland Counties are on the scene of a fire at a bar in Avonmore.

The fire was first reported at 2:05 this morning, according to Westmoreland County 911, as crews were dispatched to Guy’s Tavern at 509 Westmoreland Avenue.  Westmoreland County 911 officials also say that the fire is under control at this hour, but is not out.  Crews are on the scene to continue to fight the fire and look for hot spots.

Iselin/West Lebanon, Coal Run/McIntyre and Aultman fire departments were initially called in for tanker assist detail at 2:56 AM, and Black Lick fire crews were called in to assist about an hour later.  Creekside and Homer City Fire departments are on standby for Iselin/West Lebanon and Black Lick fire departments, respectively.
