On Tuesday, the Indiana Borough Council approved advertising some proposed changes to the borough’s zoning ordinance.
Part of the discussion on the changes was on signs and flags and what is exempt from requiring a permit from the borough. Councilman Ben Ford talked about the changes that would be put in place in the revised ordinance.
Audio PlayerThe motion to advertise the changes passed by a 11-1 vote, with Poom Sunhachawi-Taylor casting the lone no vote.
The council also discussed switching the meeting types next year. Under the current system, the first Tuesday after the first Monday of the month is the agenda prep meeting, and the second meeting is held on the third Tuesday of the month. That had been the system in place since former Borough Manager C. Michael Foote was in office. The matter was tabled for a future meeting.
Council also set a topic for the next agenda prep meeting, which will be the possibility of redistricting the borough.
