At Tuesday night’s Indiana Borough Agenda Prep meeting, borough council discussed altering the borough wards to even out the population in the wards.
Council President Peter Broad said that every ten years after the census, the borough’s wards must be reapportioned according to the census data. The borough hasn’t done it and as of right now, the population in each ward is not equal. If the borough is to go through with reapportioning the wards, Broad said that the census data has to be accurate.
This is just the start of the conversation, as the reapportionment has to happen by the end of 2022.
