High school football arrives at week seven tonight, with games on all four of our Renda Broadcasting stations, albeit with a twist.
The big matchup tonight is a clash between 6-0 River Valley and 5-1 Homer Center, on Homecoming night for the Wildcats. River Valley star Angelo Bartolini is expected to miss the game with an injury. We will have the game on both WCCS, 101.1 FM and AM 1160, and on Cat Country 106.3 FM, in a simulcast with Mark Bertig and Ward Hilliard, and the game will also be on the TribLive High School Sports Network and on Renda Media video, available for viewing on both the WCCS and WLCY YouTube pages. You can click on the link at our Facebook pages.
Homer Center coach Greg Page says he admires the work that River Valley coach Jess Houser has done to have them playing so well.
On 92.5 FM U92, the Heritage Conference’s other unbeaten team, Cambria Heights, will tackle 1-5 Penns Manor.
Highlanders coach Jarrod Lewis says he is happy with the way his defense has played so far this season, but he sees areas where they could improve.
Comets coach Bill Packer says his team will give it their best effort to stop the vaunted Highlanders running game.
The other games involving Heritage Conference teams are Marion Center at Northern Cambria, West Shamokin at United, and Purchase Line welcoming Curwensville in an out-of-conference game.
On WDAD, 100.3 FM and 1450 AM, The Indiana High Indians, at 3-3, take on 4-2 Highlands in a Homecoming night game at Andy Kuzneski Field. That game is available both on radio and on video, with the link at the WDAD Facebook page.
Indiana is coming off a one-point loss to Knoch. Coach Brandon Overdorff says his team is getting better every day.
The Homer Center/River Valley broadcast and video stream begins tonight with the Indiana Total Therapy pregame show at 6:20. The ITT pregame shows for Penns Manor at Cambria Heights and for Indiana’s game against Highlands get underway at 6:30.
