An Aultman woman is facing charges in Westmoreland County for accessing information from the state’s anonymous Childline and tipping off a relative in relation to a child welfare probe.
The Trib reports that 39-year-old Rebecca D. Walker allegedly accessed the system through her job with the Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau. The report she accessed was part of an investigation in Indiana County that involved a couple that was accused of smoking marijuana in front of their infant child. The report also referenced one of Walker’s relatives, and she is accused of telling that relative the name of the person who filed the report on Childline.
A state human services official in Haarrisburg reported Walker to authorities on August 30th and on Tuesday, Westmoreland County Detective Ray Dupilka obtained a warrant for her arrest. Officials said that Walker should not have had access to the reports, as the case was in Indiana County and she worked for Westmoreland County.
