A woman from Home station was sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court for a charge of child endangerment.
24-year-old Ellie McCausland was ordered to serve one and a half months to a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail along with three years of probation for a guilty plea to endangering the welfare of a child. State police charged her in connection with an incident on March 3rd of this year when her son turned blue and fell over unconscious. The boy’s uncle called 911 and it was discovered that the boy had overdosed on opiates. The boy was revived with an intravenous dose of naloxone before being taken to Children’s Hospital. McCausland entered a guilty plea to the sole charge of child endangerment on August 30th.
Also sentenced yesterday was an Indiana man on two cases. 30-year-old Russel Reynolds had his parole and street time revoked for a charge of aggravated assault that went back to May 28th of this year in Clymer when he was involved in an argument with an unnamed Clymer man. He also hit a Clymer woman’s car with a shovel and a propane tank during the incident. On top of aggravated assault, Reynolds also pleaded guilty to criminal mischief. He also pleaded guilty to charges of terroristic threats and harassment for a case in March of this year. For the case in March, he was ordered to serve nine months to a day less than two years in County Jail. For the the case in May, he was ordered to serve nine months to a day less than two years in County Jail for each count and three years of probation for the criminal mischief charge. All prison time will run concurrently.
