The Indiana School Board held a special meeting virtually last night to modify the district’s health and safety plan
The plan will allow students who were close contacts with someone who was infected with Covid-19 to remain in class as long as they are asymptomatic but they are required to wear a face mask for a 14 day period. If symptoms show up, they will be quarantined at home. Otherwise, masking policies for the district remain the same, with masks being optional but encouraged.
Indiana superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that this effort is meant to help keep students in the classroom as much as possible.
As of this morning, 9 positive student cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the district, with five in the Senior High, one in the Junior High-Eisenhower combined student body, two at East Pike and one at Ben Franklin.
