IUP has updated its Covid dashboard for the first time this semester, and the university is reporting 37 IUP students have tested positive for Covid-19 over a two-week period.
Ten of the 37 students live in on-campus housing, while the remaining students are off-campus. All of the students are following the required response protocol recommended by health care professionals.
IUP has also announced a new measure for students and staff on campus. After receiving word from the CDC that the N95 and KN95 masks are preferred over standard cloth face masks, IUP ordered a supply of the KN95 masks that will be available for students and employees. Students will be able to find these masks at the residence halls, dining facilities, the KCAC Athletics Office, the Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement at Elkin Hall, and at the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. IUP employees will be able to order their masks directly from IUP Central Stores.
The mask offerings are on top of the free testing and vaccinations that the university is offering to students and staff through the IUP Health Services office.
