Troopers are continuing to investigate a school bus crash that happened this (Thursday) morning in Montgomery Township.
Police, Citizens’ Ambulance and the Commodore Fire Department were dispatched at 7:15 AM to Churchill Road south of Mountain View Lane for a report of a school bus overturning. Upon arrival, they found that the bus was transporting 17 students to the Purchase Line School District, and students were being assisted out of the bus by first responders. Police say that the bus was going through a right curve in the road, but the icy conditions caused the bus to go off the east berm and roll into a ditch, landing on its driver’s side. The driver, who was not identified, and three students were taken to the hospital for treatment of what are believed to be minor injuries.
The bus took on minor damage and required towing.
State police are thanking the first responders for their quick action this morning and the Purchase Line School District Administration for its assistance in the investigation.
