The Indiana girls track and field team returned to action Friday at the Butler Invitational. The team tied for 5th place overall in a field of 57 teams with its 37 points.
Leading the way for the girls was Abbie Huey, who won two events on the day, earning her the track MVP award in the process. In winning the 400 meter run, Huey broke her own school record which she had set Wednesday with Friday’s time of 57.90. In the 200 meters she ran a season’s best time of 25.36 in earning the win.
Senior Lizzy Lubold picked up a second place medal in the javelin with a throw of 117-7. Junior Cadence Ullman also medaled, taking 5th place in the 200 with her time of 26.85.
The team of Huey, Ullman, Kate Mill and Eve Kuzneski closed out the meet and the scoring for the girls, taking 4th in the 4×400 relay with their time of 4:15.46.
Next up for the team is the boys Butler Invitational on Saturday.
