An Indiana man is in jail, facing felony charges for allegedly forcing his way into a home last week and trying to set it on fire.
Indiana Borough Police for a reported domestic incident at 5:40 AM last Thursday. Police say 32-year-old Michael Redd had kicked in the door of home in the 11-hundred block of Nixon Avenue, assaulted a woman, threatened to burn the house down, and then started a fire in the kitchen. He fled when police arrived, but was located a short distance away and taken into custody.
After preliminary arraignment before District Judge Robert Steele Bell Jr., Redd was ordered held at the Indiana County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is charged with felony arson/reckless endangerment, misdemeanor simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal mischief, along with summary harassment.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 11th before Judge Bell.
