Indiana needed just two runs to take down Homer City in the District VII 12U Championship Game, as they won, 2-0, Tuesday night at Optimist Park.

Homer City loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth, but third baseman Joey Alsippi made a great play to take away a base hit that could have scored the tying run from second. Indiana head coach Kenny Drew said it was a hard play to make.

Drew adds that his pitchers, Max Drew and Reagan Boring, were pivotal in the team’s win.

Boring came in during the sixth and got three straight outs to earn the save. He said his defense helped him stay calm on the mound.

Indiana gained offensive support from Braden Bonatch, Matthew Stone, Kyler Lorelli and Billy Taylor, who all had a hit in the game, while Luke Raglani finished with the team’s only RBI.
Homer City was led by Collin Dunn, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, and Louie Rodman, who went 1-for-3 with a double.

SOFTBALL
In Little League softball news, Clymer 10U beat State College in sectional play, 12-0, in four innings. They play State College again tomorrow for the potential sectional championship.
