A proposal aimed towards providing families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic financial relief was reintroduced yesterday by Governor Tom Wolf.
The PA Opportunity Program, which was first introduced in February and would provide payments of $2,000 to families earning less than $80,000, was first rejected by legislative leaders, but Wolf is hopeful for a different outcome during its second time around.
One of the main concerns is how the proposal could affect inflation, which has plagued the United States for months, but Wolf says that it won’t make inflation worse.
The proposed $2,000 payments would be put towards helping families combat the high prices of gas and food.
