The Steelers called off practice last night due to the bad weather that came through. That made it the third year that the annual Friday Night Lights practice in Latrobe was cancelled. The last two years was because Steelers Training Camp was not held in Latrobe due to the Pandemic.
Steelers players and coaches never left the Saint Vincent campus. A line of school buses was filled, but it did not depart as scheduled at 6:30. Defensive captain Cameron Heyward joked with coach Mike Tomlin to call off practice as he hurried to a bus in the rain at about 6:20 p.m. Instead of heading to Latrobe Memorial Satadium, he Steelers headed to Greater Latrobe High School to use the gym for an indoor walkthrough.
Provided the weather holds up today, the Steelers return to practice today at Saint Vincent.
