Indiana County will be busy with a pair of festivals this weekend.
The first will be on Saturday as the Blairsville Diamond hosts the 10th annual Knotweed Festival, celebrating the Japanese knotweed which can be found along the Conemaugh River in Indiana County.
Festivities kick-off at 10 a.m. with a parade through Market Street. Kids activities will begin at 11 a.m. and will include bounce houses, rock climbing walls and more.
Musical groups will also perform at various locations throughout the day, and Renda Media will broadcast live from the Festival.
On Sunday, the Italian Festival returns to Philadelphia Street in Downtown Indiana.
Vendors, artisans and food trucks, along with other types of attractions, will line the area between 9th and 13th Streets from noon until 7 p.m. There will also be a car show and a patio set valued at $1,300 will be auctioned off. Raffle tickets are available at Bruno’s Restaurant for $5 each and proceeds will benefit the Teddy Bear Fund Drive.
Festival Spokesperson Tammy Currie said there was a lot of cooperation from local businesses in getting the festival set up.
