An IUP history professor is the recipient of $200,000 in grant money from the Teagle Foundation-National Endowment for the Humanities to implement a new certificate program at the university.
Professor Lynn Botlho received the grant to start the “Big Ideas: Transformative Culture and the Professions” program at IUP. She along with co-directors Bryna Finer and Melanie Holm from the English department will lead a faculty team to offer the certificate program. The program is designed for pre-professional and STEM students, and will integrate and embed the liberal arts into student career preparation. After completion of the program, the students earn a “Big Ideas” certification.
This marks the second Teagle Foundation grant for the program. The first $25,000 grant was for planning and piloting the Big Idea program at IUP.
