Another change in Covid Status has been announced for IUP’s main campus and branch campuses.
According to a news release from the University, the Centers for Disease Control updated the community level Covid-19 statuses late last week to Low status for Indiana, Armstrong and Allegheny County. Jefferson County remains in the low status.
IUP will continue to follow guidance from the CDC regarding masks and face coverings, but as of right now, masks are no longer recommended when inside university buildings. Masks are still required when visiting IUP’s Health Service office, or if an individual has symptoms of Covid-19, a positive test or exposure to someone who tested positive for Covid-19. Also, it’s expected that if someone visits an office space or dorm room, it’s expected the visitor follow the request of the individual as to whether to mask up or not.
Free Covid Testing continues to be offered, and vaccines will also be offered. The most current Bivalent omicron-specific booster has not yet been received by IUP but as soon as it is, the IUP community will be notified.
