Two Indiana County Commissioners made an exclusive announcement this morning.
Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith and fellow Commissioner Robin Gorman appeared on Indiana in the Morning on WCCS to announce that both plan on running for a second term in office. Both were elected to office in 2019 along with Sherene Hess, who was reelected at the time.
Keith mentioned that the first couple of years in office were challenging.
Keith focused on the first year in office as he and Gorman were elected during one of the most financially trying times as Indiana County faced an $18 million deficit.
Gorman echoed Keith’s sentiment about the deficit, but adds that once the County recovered financially, they were able to focus on getting other departments to work together.
Gorman adds that she wanted to run again so she and her fellow commissioners can build on what they started.
If re-elected, Commissioners plan to continue focusing on areas such as infrastructure, creating more jobs across the county, and the on-going broadband project.
