UPDATE:
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. has released the identity and the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Northern Indiana County on Sunday.
Overman said that the person who died was 72-year-old Paul Weaver of Rochester Mills. He was travelling North on Route 119 and was in the area of 16004 Route 119 in Marchand when he suffered a medical emergency. The vehicle swerved off the road and his car came to rest in the property’s front yard.
Weaver was not hurt due to the crash and did not die as a result of the crash. His death was ruled due to natural causes.
State Police, Jefferson County EMS and the Marion Center and Perry Township Fire Departments all assisted on the scene. Fire crews were on the scene for about three hours.
WHAT WAS FIRST REPORTED
Marion Center Firefighters have released details on a crash Sunday afternoon where one person was found dead.
The crash was reported at 1:31 PM at 16004 Route 119 North in Marchand. Marion Center fire department assistant chief Gavin Misko said that the accident was the result of a medical emergency, and one person was discovered dead in the crash. Fire crews were on the scene for roughly three hours as the Indiana County Coroner’s office investigated the crash site. Marion Center was assisted by Perry Township fire department and Jefferson County EMS.
The name of the victim has not yet been released by fire officials or the Indiana County Coroner’s office.
Along with the vehicle crash that resulted in one person dying, Sunday was a very quiet day for Indiana County First Responders.
A physical rescue was reported at 8:36 PM on Sunday at a location on Sharps Hill Road in Burrell Township. The call was quickly cancelled.
