After a standout development camp last week, the Penguins have signed defenseman Thimo Nickl to their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton AHL team. Nickl played last season in his native Sweden. He was Anaheim’s fourth round draft choice in 2020. The Pens acquired him in a trade with Anaheim on March 31st. They have until June 1st next year to sign him to an NHL-level contract in order to retain his rights.
Pens forward Drew O’Connor’s arbitration hearing has been scheduled for August 4th.
