Indiana Fire Association was called out early this morning for a fire at a duplex in Indiana Borough.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire at 1:59 AM on South 6th Street in Indiana Borough and dispatched the Indiana fire and police departments along with Citizens Ambulance and the RIT team. Homer City and Creekside fire departments were dispatched later to assist but were cancelled as the fire was knocked down quickly. Assistant fire chief Ron Moreau said that a neighbor noticed the smoke alarm going off in the duplex and called 911.
The fire was found in a first-floor bathroom. No word yet on the exact cause of the fire. Minimal damage was reported. The Indiana Borough Police and the property owner will investigate the cause.
