Two vehicle accidents were reported yesterday by Indiana County 911.
The first crash was at 4:31 PM at the intersection of Routes 403 and 580 near Penns Manor in Cherryhill Township. Cherryhill Township firefighters, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance were called out initially, but Clymer and Pine Township fire departments were dispatched a minute later to assist at the scene. Fire chief Jody Rainey said that the two vehicles collided in a T-bone-style crash. Two people were hurt and one of them had to be extricated. One person was taken by Citizens Ambulance to the hospital for treatment, while the other was life-flighted from the scene. Pine Township fire officials had to set up a landing zone for the helicopter.
The other crash was on Second Avenue in Pine Township. Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Clymer and Nicktown fire departments were dispatched at 10:22 PM. Details on this crash have not been released, but as soon as we get more information, we will pass it along to you.
