Indiana’s boys have had a rough week on the golf course this week, losing three straight close matches, including a narrow loss yesterday, 201-203 to Norwin. Match medalist Harrison Martineau led Indiana with an even par 36 and Ryan Bell was a stroke back. Philip Bell shot 42, Ash Lockard 43, and Trevor Todd 45.
Indiana plays its final section match of the season against Penn Trafford today.
Indiana’s girls golfers came away with a 223-276 win over Gateway yesterday in a tri-meet, while losing out to Hempfield, which shot a 194. Peyton Scott was medalist against Gateway with a 50. Izzy Slagle shot a 53, Bella Donatelli a season-best 58, and Evangeline Pangonis 62.
CROSS COUNTRY
United knocked off Portage and Penns Manor in both boys and girls cross country yesterday and the Portage boys and girls both also topped Penns Manor.
For the boys, United’s Colton Henning and Matt Beaver were the top two racers, followed by Portage’s Gabe Corte.
In the girls’ race, United had the top three finishers and six of the first seven. The Lions’ Olivia Henning, Sara Gornick, and Chloe Stiles led the way.
United also beat Portage in both of the Junior High races.
