The Indiana County Commissioners met this (Wednesday) morning and approved four union contracts.
The contracts are with AFSCME for some courthouse employees, UMWA for court-related employees, SEIU for court appointed workers and the Sergeants union for employees with the sheriff’s office. Each agreement was a four-year agreement with pay raises in each year ranging from 3% to 4%.
In other business, The Commissioners approved a 5% rate increase for the costs of Acute Rehabilitation rooms and semi-private long-term care rooms at the Communities At Indian Haven. Representatives with Indian Haven say that the request was made due to the increasing cost of operation.
Commissioners also commended county jail correctional officer Anthony Tagliati for his actions on November 20th where his actions saved the life of an inmate under his care.
