Indiana Borough Police have charged one person with endangering the welfare of a child following a month-and-a-half-long investigation.
Officers say 28-year-old Amber Jones of Indiana was charged following an investigation that started on December 7 after a child, described as less than a year old, allegedly suffered an injury after having physical contact with Jones at a location in the 200 block of Nixon Avenue.
Jones was taken into custody and placed in Indiana County Jail. She was arraigned before District Judge Tony Sottile on charges of Aggravated Assault and Recklessly Endangering the Welfare of a Child. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 2.
Assisting Indiana Borough Police in the investigation were members of the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office, Indiana County Children and Youth Services, and Pennsylvania State Police.
