Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was nominated for the Bat Masterson Trophy for the 2023-24 season.
The award recognizes “the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.” Crosby was previously selected as the Penguins’ nominee for the 2012-13 campaign and rose to being a finalist for the award that season after making his way back to the ice after a bout with concussion-related issues.
Meanwhile, the Penguins are looking to make up some more ground in the race for the final playoff spot as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning this afternoon at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens are 6th in the Metro Division right now with 81 points. You can hear the game at noon on U-92.5 FM
