With warm weather returning, many people are considering some outdoor recreation, but the Indiana County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a reminder about some things that are dangerous, against the law or both.
One of the items is a set of ordinances regarding recreational vehicles in county parks. People are reminded that no motor vehicles are allowed in any county parks unless they are properly registered. Those with RV trailers, mobile homes, or any other trailer, wagon or buggy are not allowed to park in the normal areas. They must go to areas specifically designated for them. Anyone violating this ordinance will pay a $25 to $300 fine, along with reimbursing the county for any damaged property.
The other reminder concerns Allen Park Bridge in Cherryhill Township. No one is allowed to cross that bridge on foot, or otherwise occupy the bridge by standing on, lying on, or jumping from the bridge. Exceptions are made for having to cross the bridge on foot in case of an emergency and vehicular traffic is allowed on the bridge. If caught, violators face a punishment of ten days in the county jail, a fine of up to $1000 or both.
