Indiana County Commissioners are asking residents who rely on DSL or wireless internet to participate in the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority’s service challenge process.
According to an announcement, more than 1,150 homes in Indiana County are equipped with DSL or wireless home internet services that are incorrectly labeled on the FCC map as having access to high-speed internet, and efforts are underway to rectify the discrepancy.
Interested residents can log on to SPCBEADchallenge.com, identify their location on the FCC map and test their internet speed. The first test must be completed by Monday, and all three speed tests may be taken until May 22nd at 11 PM.
Residents that are identified in unserved or underserved areas do not need to complete the tests.
