The $4 million purchase will ensure the property remains a community asset, and also guarantees that the Indiana County Fair will remain in its current location, and that the park will be maintained. Operations of Mack Park Pool will remain with the YMCA of Indiana County.
Jonathan Mack said that the acquisition will help with the mission of the J.S. Mack Foundation in the fact that it has been difficult to financially maintain the park.

The ground was originally owned by John Sephus Mack, the president of G.C. Murphy, a chain of “five-and-dime” stores across the united states back in the early 20th Century before it became a community park in 1934.
