After announcing their definitive agreement in March, members with Armstrong County Memorial Hospital and Pennsylvania Mountain Care Network made their partnership official on Monday.
According to a news release, ACMH officially joined Indiana Regional Medical Center and Punxsutawney Area Hospital as part of the network today following the completion of several regulatory and third-party notices. The partnership started after ACMH signed a non-binding letter of intent to join PMCN in October and both sides reaching a definitive agreement March 6.
The affiliation aims to preserve, enhance, and provide quality healthcare for patients in the Armstrong-Indiana-Jefferson tri-county region, while also creating synergies, cost-efficiencies, and sustainability for ACMH, Indiana Regional Medical Center and Punxsutawney Area Hospital. The three hospitals will retain their local identities and operate as two community nonprofit corporations. Additionally, each hospital will retain their existing medical and nursing staffs, employees, volunteers and community connectors, but there will be some sharing of human resources.
