Indiana Borough Police are investigating a robbery that took place Monday evening at the Rite Aid along Philadelphia Street.
Officers say they responded to the robbery around 8:30 p.m. and witnesses on-scene reported that three people wearing surgical masks entered the store at the same time. Two reportedly passed a note to the pharmacy staff demanding the release of controlled substances while the third remained at the front of the store.
An unspecified number of controlled substances was taken and the three fled the store towards Nixon Avenue. Officers also say a weapon was shown during the incident, but no one was harmed.
The suspects are estimated to be younger than 30 years old and have dark skin. One was wearing a light brown/tan zip-up coat, while the other two wore dark-hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up.
Anyone that has external cameras facing the general direction of the store is asked to check them for any photos or video of the suspects and report it to Indiana Borough Police.
The investigation is ongoing and further details will be released once they are available.
