Indiana native and former Indiana High standout Sean Thompson was officially named as the new head baseball coach for Virginia Commonwealth University on Monday.

Thompson posted a 14-3 record at Indiana with a 1.76 cumulative ERA between 2010 and 2014. Along with that, he hit .412 with 51 RBI with the Indians.
Thompson played at VCU from 2015 to 2018 and helped the Rams clinch their first NCAA Regional title as a freshman. He signed with the Chicago White Sox as an undrafted free agent following graduation and played in their minor league system before taking up assistant roles with FIU and VCU.
