Some pretty cool celebrations for IUP Baseball:
Coach Steve Kline returned to St. Louis for the 20th anniversary of the Cardinals’ 2004 NL Championship team, and he got to throw out the first pitch. Kline was outstanding pitching out of the bullpen for the Cards that year, going 2-2 with a 1.79 ERA in 67 appearances. He did not allow a single earned run pitching at home in the entire season.
And the IUP championship baseball team was honored by the Pirates before Saturday’s game against the Diamondbacks. The Crimson Hawks’ Jake Black, Derrick Shields, Harrison Pontoli and Peyton Johnson all threw out the first pitch.
