A filmmaker with local ties will showcase a documentary this weekend at the Indiana Theater.
David Altrogge and his company, Vinegar Hill Films will show “Clemente” tonight and tomorrow. Altrogge said he was inspired to make the film after seeing “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, a documentary about Fred Rogers.
Audio PlayerAltrogge said that he was able to get Clemente’s descendants to take part because his documentary was taking a different path than other movies.
Audio PlayerAlso featured in the film are Bob Costas, Yadier Molina, Rita Moreno, Michael Keaton and others. “Clemente” has won awards already, as it picked up the Documentary Spotlight Audience Award at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
The film will be screened tonight at 7:00 PM at the Indiana Theater with a Q&A session with Altrogge to follow. It will also be screened as part of a Filmmakers Workshop at 2:00 PM tomorrow. Admission is free, but a ticket is required and you can get tickets online.
