Governor Josh Shapiro signed a historic education bill yesterday. Shapiro officially approved the $11 billion back-to-school bill during a ceremony at Emmaus High School in Lehigh County. The bill includes a more than one-billion-dollar increase for public education, which marks the largest year-over-year increase in state history.
Shapiro said the future of Pennsylvania is directly linked to the success of educators, and that the budget delivers significant progress on several issues related to school safety, adequate and equitable funding for public schools, school choice and supporting the state’s teachers.
