The investigation is ongoing into a bomb threat found yesterday at Penns Manor High School.
State police say the threatening note was found in a bathroom of the Junior-Senior High School on Monday. Students were evacuated to Pat Corrigan Field, then sent home early. Troopers were able to conduct a sweep of the building using Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations explosive-detecting K-9 officers and found no explosive devices.
In a letter sent to parents and posted to the district’s website, Superintendent Daren Johnston said classes would resume today and follow a normal schedule. Counseling services will also be available to students or employees who may feel anxious or need to talk about the events. He added that he was grateful for the “swift and professional response from our students, parents, guardians, employees and the Pennsylvania State Police,” saying that the district will continue to work with authorities to make sure all policies and safety protocols are followed.
State police encourage anyone with information to call them at 724-357-1960.
