Six non-profit organizations will get some assistance from IUP’s students as part of the “Fall Into The Streets” event this weekend.
The event is sponsored and organized by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development in the Student Affairs division and will feature students taking part in multiple activities. Some of the volunteer work the students will provide this weekend includes:
- Removing Barberry Plants from White’s Woods with the Friends of White’s woods.
- Weeding and mulching at the Indiana Community Garden food forest at Mack Park
- Help prepare the bookstore room at the Indiana Free Library
- Painting and updating several spaces at the Indiana Theater
- Providing assistance with the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival at an area property
- Reorganizing the storage area of the Salvation Army location in Indiana.
IUP Director of Student Leadership Donovan Daniel said in a news release that the community service will help students “develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their values and their sense of purpose.”
