Susan “Sue” P. Wettling, 79, of Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Robert C. and Jean L. (Harkleroad) Wettling, she was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Indiana.
Sue received a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University. Prior to her retirement, Sue taught physical education at the United School District for 34 years and coached various teams. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a huge collector of lions. Sue enjoyed playing softball so much that she played for several different teams over the years. She also loved to travel – coast to coast.
She is survived by her brother, Michael L. Wettling, of Va; honorary sister, Jean Mitchell, of Indiana; nieces and nephew: Leasha Donath, Christopher Wettling and wife Lori, Gary Boyd and wife Charlotte; great nieces and nephews: Naomi Donath, Evan Wettling, Katelyn Boyd and Mitchell Boyd; cousins: Mr. and Mrs. David Mikesell, Mr. and Mrs. Zeke Harkleroad, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Matter, Pennie Cavanaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mikesell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert W. Wettling; and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Wettling and Shirley Wettling.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024 and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
