At Tuesday night’s meeting, Indiana Borough Council approved a four-year agreement with Waste Management with some changes to the service.
The new four-year agreement will change things up with garbage collection, with residents being provided with a 96-gallon container. One concern that was brought up was how would garbage trucks make it up narrow streets with the container system in place. Waste Management Senior Account Executive Ralph Zerner said that they have a lot of experience with Indiana Borough’s roads.
For the first year of the contract, the cost will be at $14.50 a month, which includes the new garbage bin. The cost will increase slightly each year of the contract.
In other business, the council set Trick or Treat time for 6-8 PM on Halloween Night, October 31st.
