Charges will not be prosecuted against three of the four people accused of obstructing state police as they served a warrant and tried to take a child into protective custody at a Greensburg domestic violence center.
Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli announced that charges will not be prosecuted against Blackburn Center staffers Mariia Robinson of Blairsville and Adrian Orsini of Latrobe along with director Renee Reitz of Jeanette, but charges remain in place for Eleonora Marsili of Hempfield.
On October 1st, both Westmoreland Children and Youth Services and State Police received an emergency child custody order to transfer care of a four-year-old to CYS immediately due to safety concerns. It was discovered the child was living with its mother at the Center. When troopers contacted the staff and advised of the emergency court order, the center refused to cooperate with the order. Troopers were forced to get a search warrant and returned that night to serve the warrant, but staff again refused to cooperate with the warrant and took steps to stop the progress of authorities. Eventually, officers forced their way in to carry out the warrant and take the child into custody.
Court records show that Marsili is not in custody yet.
