The president of the faculty union at the State System of Higher Education last week warned the Board of Governors about what he called “a building critical mass” over unfair treatment of employees with disabilities. Dr. Kenneth Mash said he suspects APSCUF’s concerns voiced during the last contract negotiations were “shut down by (the State System’s) university presidents.
Mash spoke after colleagues had appeared before the board “standing up for themselves” and asked if it was “really necessary…that one has to even rely on the law to get fair treatment?”
Mash said his main point in his address to the Board was to express his appreciation and respect for the departing chancellor, Dan Greenstein, whom he thanked for the tone he and Board chair Cynthia Shapira set and for his representation of the State System before the state legislature.
