A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for a Clearfield County man charged with theft in White Township in July.
Court documents show 22-year-old Nicholas Holbert of Osceola Mills is due before District Judge Tony Sottile today. He is charged with robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury, theft by unlawful taking and possession of an instrument of crime for the incident July 16th along Pompano Drive. The victim, identified only as an 18-year-old Indiana man, claimed that as he was walking away from a group of people, Holbert placed him in a chokehold, pressed a pistol to his side and demanded his wallet and Rolex watch. Troopers said that he returned the $400 and the watch in the overnight hours.
Today marks the third attempt at a preliminary hearing for Holbert, as two previous hearings were continued.
