Carmen Richard “Dick” Pitrone, 82, of Indiana, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at his home.
Dick was born on October 5, 1942 to Gregory Sam, and Mary Adams Pitrone in Punxsutawney.
He was formerly served with the Army Reserves.
Dick was a member of the First Christian Church, Indiana. He was a salesman for Jefferson Grocery for many years and also worked for Bell Wholesale until his retirement in 2018. He loved making Italian meatballs and sauce for the church’s many spaghetti dinners. He loved to cook Italian for his family and friends. They all enjoyed the famous ‘Pappy’s Noodles”, homemade wedding soup and breaded steak for Christmas. Most of all Dick loved his spending time with his family, especially holidays and summer vacations at the shore.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, whom he married in 1995, Sherry Smith Pitrone, Indiana, step-daughter Yavette Griffith, Home, Step-son, Michael Griffith, Indiana, two precious step-granddaughters, Madison Griffith Leasure (Bradley), Glen Campbell, Abbrealla Griffith, Home, adopted daughter, Mindy Billick and two precious great grandchildren, Tatum Wrenley and Cade Michael Leasure, also dearly loved niece Angela Nolfi (Herb) and her children Allessandra, Enzo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, a sister Theresa Barletta, a brother Tony Pitrone, two step-sisters, Virginia Forcucci, and Minnie Ruggiero.
Friends will be received on Monday from 3-7 PM at the John A, Lefdahl Funeral Home, 898 Old Route 119 North, Indiana, PA 15701. Friends can also be received on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Spiker officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA
