The Indiana Area School District is reminding the public that paving operations on North 5th Street will reduce traffic all this week to one lane in the area of the Senior High School during school hours, between 9 AM and 2 PM.
The Indiana Area School Board’s Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation Committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, and the agenda includes a number of projects that are underway or are proposed. The committee will get an update on the Eisenhower school, with a couple of change orders. Some of the other items include the Junior High School pool air handler; an upgrade to the district’s phone system that would replace copper-based phone lines and also seek a new provider; the renovations to the Senior High science classroom, costing an estimated $755,000, and the childcare classroom, at a cost of about $160,000; and the study of air conditioning for the gyms at the Senior High and Junior High, and for the East Pike and Ben Franklin schools.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 and will be preceded at 5:00 by a meeting of the Outreach Committee.
Marion Center’s school board will hold a work session with a varied agenda that includes some personnel items, a proposal for work to be done to facilitate the installation of outdoor cameras, and some district policy discussions.
