River Valley School District recently launched a new initiative geared towards using artificial intelligence in improving teaching, learning, and district operations.
Superintendent Philip Martell said the creation of the district’s new Artificial Intelligence Task Force will focus on several key priorities, such as leadership & vision, policy, ethical and legal considerations; instructional framework; professional learning; student use; business and technology operations; and community engagement.
Dr. Luke Faust and University of Pittsburgh Professor Michael Pry will lead the committee, which consists of teachers, administrators and students. The task force met for the first time Monday morning and discussed the impact of AI on teaching and learning.
The committee is expected to hold more meetings in the near future.
